This is one of my favorite childhood meals. Veg tehri recipe - Tehri, tehari or tahari is a one pot dish originated from the Awadhi cuisine. It is mildly spicy, delicious & flavorful. It is most commonly eaten for a meal in North India.
Instructions to make Tehri:
- Slice onion,chop tomatoes, potatoes and all veggies
- Take oil add cumin seeds and whole garam masala
- Add sliced onion and cook till translucent
- Add crushed green chillies and ginger garlic paste now and cook till raw aroma goes
- Add chopped tomatoes and cook till they get soft
- Add dry masala at this point and leave till oil separates
- And veggies and potatoes with water and salt leave on sim till they are cooked
- Once cooked add curd and coriander leaves leave for 5 minutes
- Add water and let it come on boil then add washed rice and leave till it gets cooked
- Tehri is ready have hot
